REPRESENTATIONS OF MEN IN THE MEDIA.

Robin Thicke - Blurred lines.

Throughout the whole music video of ‘ Blurred lines’ men are represented as sex animals who need and not want sexual attention. This is represented through the language used ‘ I know you want it ‘ which is repeated throughout the music video. Due to the repetition, it gives the impression of Robin Thicke forcing sex onto female audiences which again, shows domince. The word ‘ you’ shows direct approach so audiences feel as if Robin Thicke is directly talking to them enabling audiences to feel engaged and involved. This goes back to men in the music industry trying to promote sexual attention again relating back to men being labelled as sex predators. 

Within the music video of blurred lines, women are shown to be exploitative by wearing seductive nude clothing and carrying themselves in a sexual manner. Because of this, it suggests that the men over power women and use them simply as sex objects. This is a representation of men especially in the media as it may influence other men’s mindsets.
