Assassigns's Creed: Liberation changed into an action adventure and was released to be played with the PS Vita and it was launched in 2012.  Throughout the game, the player controls a woman protagonist named Avaline on her journey to free slaves in her place of origin and get revenge for her mothers death. The characters is capable of transfer among the main character's extraordinary personas as a lady, a slave and an assassin. Th game is based in 1700s Orleans based on a time period that truly happened.

The game was made just to help promote the PS vita to begin with hence why the trailer was shown on the console in the form of a walk through kind of format. When the PS3 version was released, they revealed parts that developers needed to improve. This consisted of showing gameplay and the open world. Eventually the game was released in HD for the PS3 and online XBOX servers. The game was also released alongside a soundtrack that was produced by Winifred Philips .

Futhermore, this was the first assasssins creed game to feature a female as the leading role. She is portrayed to be a strong, independent character who is able to protect herself in any situation. The game also uses stereotypical female traits such as flirting and being seductive towards men in order to gain more information or the current or next mission.

bad stereotypes are represented through the media using newspapers and their covers and so on. A very sensitive topic amongst society are muslims and their extremist opposite numbers that society appear to relate to the faith as a whole. This stereotype reasons outrage among the muslim network as they are being ridiculed and judged with the aid of society. greater giant examples of muslim stereotypes are proven on the image at the right beneath, this is a photo created to show off commonplace stereotypes associated with the muslim faith. inside the image the stereotypes are for my part and physically located and stuck all over a muslim mans face, this is to relate to the 'label' social stigma on where human beings accomplice sure words with an person primarily based on a sure trait that they've.

The newspaper picture  i've selected is that this one from the publisher 'The solar'. right here the headline is "1 in five Brit Muslims sympathy for jihadis", this headline is a terrible stereotype as it's miles announcing that so british muslims sympathise for jihadis, which they have got rephrased it to seem less offensive and to be visible extra as a statistic. This relates to the "hypodermic needle idea", this is a model of communications suggesting that an supposed message is at once acquired and thoroughly accepted with the aid of the receiver. The theory relates to this newspaper cowl because the headline is trying to unfold the stereotype of muslims being a imminent threat, even british muslims, this message is then fed to the public to make actually accept as true with that they are in chance and british muslims are an drawing close risk to their protection. The newspaper publisher 'The sun' is known as one of the maximum biased publishers, that is because of their Proximity element as more neighborhood newspapers or tabloids including The solar's newspaper tales tends to be more local to spark greater interest in the reader however they are additionally extra ethnocentric than different satisfactory newspapers this means they tend to judge other cultures based totally on their own preconceptions inside their own lifestyle, so a headline together with this isn't sudden from a writer consisting of 'The solar' as they exploit their readers and ship fake messages which the target market then consider and be given to then bring on this social stigma on stereotypes.

Representations on ethnicity in the media

The media has enough power to indoctrinate a nation to think or do what they want them to, to an extent. Saying this, the media also has enough power to change audiences thoughts based on how its represented or portrayed. In this instance, how the media influence  mass audiences decisions on different ethnicity's simply based upon how they they're represented. Representations can be made in different formats such as moving image media consisting of adverts and trailers to print media such as magazines and newspapers.Different ethnicity's can be represented and portrayed in different ways.

For example how Rihanna represents herself in the ' Work ' music video compare to the hosts of top gear. For example Rihanna represents the black ethnicity in her Work music video the way in which she dresses as well as her dance moves. In the beginning of the music video she dances seductively by whining (essentially just the rotation of your hips) with her face facing away from the camera but still looking back. This form of dancing is very common within the black community and also creates a sense of identity for the song itself. She also appears to be wearing island style clothing which could signify what they wear in her hometown of Barbados. Within the music video she goes from toned down island girl with a mature yet short blue dress which shows maturity with a hint of sexual quotation due to the dress being short. What next appears to be night time in the music video Rihanna is shown to be wearing a long mesh dress with Rastafarian colours symbolising the typical tradition in Barbados. Due to the factor of the dress being mesh, and showing her bra and underwear set, it shows again being seductive and quite sexual which could have been done in order to target the song towards male audiences. The video also features big black men drinking alcohol which is also a common trait in Bajan nightlife. She also challenges a gender stereotype by having a black women rolling up some weed to smoke which is never really shown or associated with black women in the media. After that, we then get a scene of a women grinding on a man to the music which is also not only normal and generalised in the Bajan community but also proves women to be shown as sex objects in the music industry.

Moving onto Top gear. Its a British TV show based on motor sport (vehicles) hosted/represented by middle aged white men. The factor of it being hosted by middle aged white men backs up the theory of them being the richest genre of people in Britain today especially as they mostly work in middle or higher work sectors. The hosts of this TV show also have a tendency of representing white middle aged men through their job as they probably worked hard for what they have now in the long run but however doing it by working in higher sectored jobs eg in offices.

Advertising and Marketing

Advert -
( Boots advertisement based on makeup )

The theorists that Im going to apply to this advertisement consists of ‘ Representation ‘ by Hall. He suggests that stereotypes help create meanings that can be based on inequalities. This implies that stereotypes help audiences to decode or encode advertisements and help to break them down ( also links to semioticcs by Banthes ). This can link back to the boots advertisement as all the women are shown to be wearing a face loaded of makeup which goes along with the stereotype that every female should wear makeup. Inequalities may be reinforced as female audiences could feel they have to look a certain to be able to fit into society. It may also add to the stress of the inequality of unequal pay and therefore cause females to feel socially excluded.

Audiences may also feel targeted to have to be a certain way as men are absent thought the whole advertisement. This suggests that men can look and act anyway in order to fit into society, though it could suggest that men can also be underrepresented and stereotyped to not like makeup ( this view mainly targeted towards the gay minority ).

This advertisement can also link back to Identity by Gauntiett as it may damage a persons self - concept. They may begin to create a negative impression towards the company resulting in bankruptcy and vast losses in customer acknowledgement.

Music Videos

J- cole wet dreams -
The purpose of wet dreams is to promote both J cole himself as well as the song itself. Throughout the whole music video of wet dreamz by j-cole, his story about how he lost his virginity is told through the use of dogs playing the role of him and the girl, along side him singing along. The video starts off with a tracking shot of J-cole himself walking his dog ( which later symbolises himself ) to a dog care centre which is used to resemble the school in which J-cole and his lover went to as children. The dogs are also shown to be on leashes which could suggest the protection coming from both J-cole and his lovers parents. After this, we then get close ups of the dogs themselves as a sense of introduction to the role. Despite that, the video has quite high key lighting which could signify J coles happiness and excitement

Throughout the whole music video, the characters are all wearing casual clothing which can suggest a sense of normality in J cole. This can implies that the narrative on the story is based before his fame and uprising. This shows that neither genders are exploited or under represented but instead are being shown equally instead of sexual objects or aggressive. This factor also suggests that people were seen as ‘ normal  ‘ and not seen for anything in particular eg sex. The mise en scene is also what would be apart of a persons essential everyday life.

In terms of editing, the music video contains  a slow yet steady pace of a fading effect when going from the music video to close ups of the dogs to romanticise the moment and create a sense of ‘ POV ‘ so audiences can get a feel of how he was feeling in the moment. The music video seems to be targeted towards an older generation ranging from around 18 to mid 20s. This is because the song is explicit as he talks about sexual activity and his experiences with it yet still being upbeat; this may be appealing to this type of age range because of that.

Yxng Bane Rihanna -

Within this music video, Yxng Bane is barely shown to be present and instead is taken over by a female. The video is about how he feels about a certain female in which we don't know and how he thinks they should treat each other . The video also starts  off with ' Yxng Bane - Rihanna ' as a title so audiences are familiarised with the song and who sings it followed by a wide shot  of typical london streets so those watching also get a slight insight to his background and where he grew up. This lasts for a few seconds. After that scene, we get a shot of Yxng Bane himself with his hand over his face in very dark, low-key lighting. The low-key lighting could suggest privacy and a sense of mystery to how he actually feels about the girl who he proclaims to be sining about. Maybe theres a story behind what he's saying? After that, we as audiences are introduced to the female who will be taking over majority of the video. She wears a long yet oversized top with one shoulder down and bra straps on show which we could be implied to be Yxng Banes top. Her wearing this type of clothing can prove her to being proven as a sex object as it seems as if she is trying to be erotic.

CROSS- PLATFORM ADVERTISING
Media Studies

What is cross-platform advertising?
Cross-platform, also known as ‘ cross- media ‘ involves the concept of being able to advertise/promote a company or campaign throughout different platforms. An example of cross-platform advertising would include the action of promoting, for example a new clothing item on platforms such as  news papers, social media eg Instagram and Snapchat as well as posters. This includes both a mixture of print media and emedia, Print media consists of media that is printed and broadcasted for example news papers where as media consists of media that is spreader via the internet for example through online chat rooms or social network accounts.

Why use cross- platform advertising?
Cross-platform advertising is useful for advertising as it reaches wide spread audiences in  the shortest amount of time, compared to any other platforms belonging to cross platform as well as being cheaper to produce. This method of promoting is also ideal as it is able to reach other countries internationally which equals a wider spread audience.  Cross platform advertising in terms of emedia is also ideal as its almost free. This is because the publisher hasn't got to spend extra money on paper, ink and money to send newspapers around to designated areas, local or not. This then leads to more profit within a company or organisation. Because of this, they are able spend the money on improvements and still have remains of money left over for something else.

Is cross-platform advertising the only promoting platform?

No. Another good promoting platform other than cross-platform advertising  would consist of selling merchandise such as tops, badges, pens etc. Selling merchandise is also ideal as not only does it help the company or organisation  gain another source of income but also, create a sense of brand loyalty towards buying customers. This method also gives an impression of audiences doing the promotion for you. This method may also be ideal as it ensures that advertising isn't just aimed at a specific type audience for example the elderly or young people which also promotes equality between ages in society

Representations on Meghan Trainor music video - ‘ Dear future husband ‘.

Meghan Trainor is a famous artist who is widely known for her songs, including her number one hit ‘ All about the bass ‘ as well as relating all her songs back to men.

The name of this music video alone ( Dear future husband ) suggests the theory of the typical type of women who simply just rely on men. This is because the title gives the impression to audiences that she needs a second half, someone to love her in order for her to survive. The word ‘ husband’ contained within the title also suggests that male female relation with the religious concept of marriage. Having to commit themselves to one another.

In the video, Mehgan portrays herself as the typical women by scrubbing the floor, appearing to cook, as well as being able to satisfy a mans needs within the bedroom. She does this by having wide camera shots that not only show her but also the setting as well as having the use of mise en scene, using the scrub and soapy water to help imply that she is cleaning. Carrying on from the use of mise en scene, Meghans outfit choices also help to give a representation on who she is. For example in the first scene, she appears to be wearing a cheater print top with complimentary colours of red and blue which could suggest the idea of provocativeness with the red and cheater print yet cool with the blue which is a balance some men may seek within a relationship. However this concept also sexually exploits Mehgan Trainor and other female audiences as they may begin the think you need to please a man in order for him to stay. This message could also come across differently depending on the age of the audience viewing it.

Meghan also features in close up shots throughout the music video not only to provide herself with adequate recognition but also to show off her air brushed look. The fact that Mehgan has been airbrushed and edited gives off the impression that every female has to be ‘ perfect ‘ with the blemish free skin, bright eyes and no tired bags underneath the eyes in order to find a parter. However she also breaks a typical female stereotype of being able to cook by not being able to cook.

In another scene, she appears to be on a boat with a male with him rowing it which shows a sense of male dominance.
